Yea.. be careful of that. In NJ, anything covering the head or tail lights, even partially, is illegal. I have the Ford brake light covers that just fill in the gaps between the parts that actually light up (see the pic below) and I failed inspection because of it. Mostly anything you do to your car is illegal in NY and NJ.
