I am trying to upgrade my bulbs but I cannot for the light of me turn the bulbs out of the socket. I have tried counterclock wise but I have snapped off one of the plastic wings of the bulb. Can anyone help.

I also had a bear of a time removing a bulb, the fact that you need midget hands to get a good grip on the left bulb doesn't help at all. It really does need to be turned CCW though so keep working at it, took me several tries and bloody knuckles to get mine out.

Try pliers as well. Had same issue.

I had a hard time on my 09 as well... I couldn't do it with my bare hands, so I paid a dealership mechanic $20 to help me out... he got both lights out with an adjustable wrench, but he spent five minutes on the right-side light since it was so stuck
