--I wouldn't post this, but it's a Holiday weekend, and the Escape will be traveling 180 miles on Sunday, round-trip with my 2 Grandkids in it. They have to be in School on Monday at the Jersey shore.
It's a 2001 V6, 4 WD with only 27,000K and has been garaged since it was new. She just started this creaking & sqeaking noise in the front driver's side, along with a squealy steering wheel, yesterday.
It sounds like someone jumping on a bed with springs.(the steering wheel squealed last year when the weather cooled too, but just for a short while)
I drove it on Tuesday to pick them up and it sounded fine, but it was pouring raining both ways. The truck is totally inspected every March, for PA yearly inspt., by a Mechanic and has all the fluids/lubrication done, along with belts replaced etc.
At this point, I just want to get them safely home and I don't know if I can get a mechanic to look at it today since it's a holiday weekend.
Hubby's Ranger is out, as I can't fit the three of us in it due to bucket seats.
Can't find anything in the search forum that helps.
