As part of the changes to my Escape, I'm attempting to debadge.

I've already removed the ESCAPE letters from the back hatch, which are just adhesive and are easily taken off with a plastic putty knife followed by the use of a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
My question is on the Ford ovals both in the grille and on the back hatch.

1. Is the oval on the back hatch adhesive or mounted through holes?

2. Has anyone found a good, black grille without a place for a logo?

Thanks!

As far as I know, some rear hatch ovals were just adhered on, while others had the mounting tabs and holes. Not sure what made the difference or how to tell.

For the grille, I have never seen a stock honeycomb replica without the oval. You could try something like what Scott had:

Definitely! I've been admiring Scott's grill, but haven't been able to find one that will fit the 2003.

My (Japanese built) Maverick has a couple of mounting holes for the rear oval. Only way I found out was by pulling it off. I just stuck it back on

I've de-badged the rest of the car since the sig pick was taken (The pick shows the 'V6' badges on the front wings (that's 'Fenders' to you) aren't there, but the 'Maverick' badges on the front doors, and the tailgate, and the XLT badge on the back are all gone now too.)
