Hello all,

New to the board and a new 2011 Escape owner (just bought one yesterday) Just looking for some advice and websites to order new head light bulbs. I drove tonight for the first time and was very unimpressed with the low and high beams. I'm not looking to mod the whole light, just purchase new bulbs. I really love the look of the bright white head lights. Any suggestions on what to buy and where to buy? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Others on here may disagree with me, but don't buy HID ballasts if you're not going to fit projectors to your car. The stock housings were not meant for HID bulbs - they end up just shining all over the place, and every driver coming at you thinks you're an a$$hole for blinding them.

Trust me, I drive 4 hours on a 2-lane highway at night once per week, and I can't tell you how many close calls I've had because some jerk is using headlights that aren't designed for his vehicle.

If you're looking for whiter, brighter lights, just get some PIAA or silverstar bulbs and call it good.

Yeah I was looking at the Silver Star bulbs, that's what I was putting in my last car, I really liked them. Probably just go to AutoZone this week and grab them. Like I said, I don't want to do any mods, just looking for a brighter bulb. Any idea of the number of the bulb?

1. Bulb # is H13
2. You will like them. I do.
3. Buy them new on eBay. You will save over 50%.
4. No ULTRAs out for the H13 yet. The Silverstars are just a moderate improvement over OEM. I can see the difference, esp. with the high beams.

I had HID 6000k lights, but they were reflecting light all over the place.

So I decided to grab some Silverstar's and I love them. Much wider light output than the OEM in IMO.

They do the job well.

I picked up some PIAA Xtreme white bulbs off ebay for like $60, took all of 5 mins to install and they are wicked bright and look good too.

I would really recommend against HIDs if you don't have the proper housing.
