2008+ Escapes use an H13 dual-filament bulb. It has two integrated socket tabs that allow you to twist it counterclockwise and out to remove it.

Dual-filament bulbs aren't easy to retrofit with HID. Most of the retrofits use a halogen high beam bulb or a moving reflector, if they do anything with the high beams at all.

these bulbs just go in where the factory bulbs go. Ther are the blue bulb. So just turn clockwise to take them out? They were very thight and did not want to break them?

It just turns counterclockwise. Page 53 of your manual.

The bulb may be filled with xenon gas, but it is not an HID bulb. HID bulbs do not have filaments. Can't believe everything you see on eBay.

very difficult to get my hand in there to even turn the bulb. Maybe push one of the two fins with a screwdriver?

If its anything like an 03, theres the metal clip, you just un-hook it and then the rubber thing with 2 "fins" on it should just pull out with not a lot of force, and then the bulb will slide out easily after the rubber grommet thing is removed.

and another thing with the "HID" bulbs.... I have the eurolite xenon bulbs (which are blue) they are not actually HID, when the lights are on they are not blue, they are white.
