Traveled down from Upstate NY last night when this epic storm started. Folks live in Leesburg VA, 40 mintues outside of D.C.
Already we have record snowfall, and it keeps coming.

I must say, the truck did amazing driving in this last night at 1:30am, was actually alot of fun to drive in

This morning's Today show weather was saying that D.C. is supposed to get 20 inches by tonight. One of my coworkers son is in Annapolis for school. :taz: He was supposed to fly out this morning :wall: . I don't think very many planes are in the air there, or making departure schedules. :( Several carriers have suspended flights to Reagan International, according to the talking head this morning  .

i have no complaints about the capabilities of the escape in any weather condition. highway 11 north of barrie is a real PITA in the winter, and i easily stuck to the passing lane with it unplowed and cruised at 80km/hr in a full blown storm on a few occasions.

We're in the Dulles area and had to leave for a wedding yesterday, about halfway into the storm - I'd say 8 inches. We returned at noon today after the storm to at least the same - the Escape handled admirably both times, even through the snowplow pile and up a steep driveway with at least another 8 inches.

BTW, if you're in the area, they featured the wedding on Channel 9 news (at the McLean Hilton) either as "life goes on during the storm" or "are these people nuts?!!!" They're still showing it through today.

It's a little ironic that Buffalo/Niagara and most of Western New York got nothing from this storm, not even flurries.

Our yards are green.

:D
