WOW! JP sure did a fine job! ( I assume he did all of it?) Either way fellas, that is sweet! Definately my favorite mod thus far!
I was just thinking to myself last night how much I hated the green on the door panel!

Me next, me next!

you do a write up on how you pulled off this masterpiece????
1. Pull instrument panel.
2. Post to JP with a cheque for $50.
3. Wait patiently for return of newly modded dash.
4. Re-install instrument panel.

 ;)
You left out the Blizzard gift card.

So was the truck sitting the whole time? How long is JPs turn time?
No I did drive it during the time. When the instrument panel is out you will notice a few things:

- When you use a turn signal you won't hear the normal ticking noise
- When in reverse your reverse lights will NOT come on.

And of course when the window switches are out you can't open the windows.

Once we got the problem solved with the USPS I believe he sent it back out in like 2 days?

Well... er...

Scottie sent me the cluster and switches on a Wednesday. They arrived on Friday, but my post office said that some worker didn't see my name on my PO box, so they returned it.

:wall: :cuss: :censor:

Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed  , since I've had my name on that box for two years, and Scottie has sent things there before (and so have dozens of other people) with no trouble. Idiots.

Anyway, he got it back on Monday and re-sent it (no charge, since he explained what happened), and he received everything back exactly one week later.

As long as I have the parts and know about it in advance, I can do everything in about four hours, if I etch and cut the boards in advance.

Also, this works only for 2005-2007 clusters. I have no idea what the inside of a 2001-2004 cluster looks like, but I do know that it's entirely different inside from the 2005-2007 clusters, even though they look similar in the instrument panel.

Looks good!

How does it look during daylight? Same as original? how's the miles marker looks? can the miles be read normally? Did you send all of the 4 door window switches? Jp, can you post a write-up? (DIY) and how hard is on a scale of 1 -10? :worry: I am thinking about having mine done (if JP can do mine), but can't afford to be without cluster for a week, since 98% of my driving is on highway...

During the daylight you don't notice anything different than if it werent changed. The only thing is the colors are changed. Looks really good. By far the best mod so far!

I already did a writeup! viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1361

I'd rate it about a 5 if you've worked with electronics before. Since the LEDs and resistors are all surface-mounted, I'd change that to a 10 if you've never worked with SMDs before.

Also, I finally finished the cluster in my Edge, which is totally different from the 2005-2007 Escape's cluster.

Before:

After:

I took the first picture after I had changed the LEDs in the steering wheel, headlamp, and climate control switches, but before I changed the cluster and the LEDs in the nav HU. To get an idea of how much brighter the new LEDs are, the original dim green LEDs and cluster aren't even visible at this exposure level. I even installed brighter needle LEDs. I just bought a new camera (a Canon A590IS), so I should be able to take better pictures than these. The pictures really don't capture how good this now looks.

I think I'll just drive my Mav over there and stay with you a few days. Gotta be easier than all this 'postage' malarkey.
