I have the 4 D cell, three AA unit, and two 2 cell AA units. Been using them for years at work. I converted my three and four cell to LED. Which puts them at 3 WATTS of power. Very bright.

I was just going to suggest the LED conversion, you beat me to it...by over a week! DUH! No grass growng under my feet. Too much shade!
