Tonight, there was a program on tv about police pursuits.
One of the pursuits shown was this one, a guy fleeing from the police in his Ford Maverick V6 XLT. I'm trying to find video footage at the mo, but here's the newspaper report.....http://ts19.gazettelive.co.uk/2007/09/1 ... r_jai.html

The police cars on board video did indeed show that the speed of the Maverick reached 128.5 MPH at one point, :worry: I didn't think that they could go that fast, but despite the erratic driving, it still "held" the road, unlike the infamous Elk test on the Mercedes A class car :thumb:

Nothin' like an Escape...

Typical Ford, though, failing to live up to its name :lol: ..................
Maybe, Ford should rename it "10 minutes of freedom, then capture", but I suppose its not as catchy a name as "Escape", plus it would need a wider boot lid to but the badge on, and add a few £££ to the list price of the car :lol:

Anyhow, over here, Ford stands for....
FIX OR REPLACE DAILY, Never a true word....................etc etc

My god, that post taxed my braincell, using different colours in 1 word, phew, need a beer and ciggie now :thumb:
And it require 2 edits to get it right, hmm, I need some training, and must remember to use PREVIEW, rather than POST( with fingers crossed)

ITV hasn't released the footage on the View Again choice yet, but, rest assured, I'm searching for it, and will post it as soon as possible.
It will be worth the wait, especially the bit where the Maverick totals a Police Volvo V70, by fishtailing it :worry: :worry:

Well, tomorrow I'm working from ITV yorkshir, on Emmerdale, so I'll ask there if I can have a view of the tapes, but maybe Big Chris, or Caffereys saw the programme, or even videotaped it.
Done my usual trawl on youtube, ITV etc, not had any luck as yet.
The programme was called "Police, Camera, Action", and the chase was entitled "Black Ford Maverick tries to evade the Cleveland Constabulary", try having an interweb trawl, you may have more success than me! :worry:
