I think the 2002 -2008 are the same four cylinder engines. I dunno about the 6s...

Dear All,
i am new to the forum, i have a 2002 mazda tribute, i blew up the engine last week, i need to replace it.
can i replace it with 2006-up ford escape, tributes engines or only 2005-below engines?
and if i can replace the engine with newer engines, what is the modifications i have to do to my 2002 tribute.

Check on ebay, and the papers. I have gotten a couple of engines out of cars in peoples yards that they were parting out. Keep looking, it took me a month to find one for an old Pontiac that I had once. Another time I got an engine for a ZX2 Escort that my son had in about three hours of online searching. Free shipping from GA, and a six month 6K miles warranty to boot!
