OK, I finally pulled the trigger and bought my wife a Mazda Tribute. She wanted a Mariner. And I liked them very much as well. But the Mazda dealer sold us the same in a Tribute as the Mariner down the street except that it did not have the hole the roof for about $4K less! It has a couple miles on it, but they were demo miles I am sure. And the Mariner had miles on it as well. But $4K? We are driving the Mazda now!

It is the 2.3L four cylinder engine with the automatic, air, power fabric upholstery, window tint, Premium stereo (whatever that means), Redfire Metallic paint, Taupe interior, cargo cover and some other toys. $17K total. Is that a good deal or what?

And since the Escort has gone from good girl to bad I don't know what I "gave" it to them. Well, they gave me enough to cover the TT&L. I am happy, my wife can not believe herself, and our kiddo is looking mighty longingly at the new Mazda.

Congrats!!!

That does sound like a good deal, especially considering the higher demand for the four-cylinder models.

Nice!!!

Dasha will want pictures of wifey proudly backing it out of the driveway.

Sheesh! I don't think the camera is working...

I'm at work and the weather report is for rain, the Tribbie and my wife have headed off to her Mama's so she can show it off, and I'm at work now. Did I mention that I am at work now? :fan:

Someday, I'll see about getting some photos...I'm a posting maniac, but inept on a good day when it comes to posting photos...

Ummm. Actually, she got the color that I wanted. She wanted black, black or dark dark grey...

I couldn't bear the thought of keeping that thing clean as she likes to park outside, not in the garage. So it would look dirty all the time :worry: . Hence, I wanted a color like white, silver or red. Maybe the light green metallic would have been OK :thumb: . The dealer only had white (1), red (2), dark grey (3), black ( like a dozen of those), and 2 used black Tribbies. I said red, so she accepted that and not hole in the roof as part of getting a new car :yahoo: . Also, the red ones were the only ones left with rebates on them. The used Tribbies were as much as the new red Tribbies. Not a very hard decsion. And while we were there the next couple that drove the used black 08 chose to go with the other new red Tribbie as well. :hi:
