Hello!
I have a 2007 Mercury Mariner hybrid, and it’s presenting with a p0a1f code along with some other small ones. The first time it did this was after the car wasn’t driven for about a week and a half, and my scanner isn’t advanced enough to clear everything, so I had to unhook the 12v for an hour and that cleared it, at least for a little bit. About a month later as it was being driven it just shut off in the middle of the road and left me stranded, but luckily that time the code cleared with my basic scanner and it drove home. That’s when I started noticing some bucking when taking off sometimes, the engine not shutting off when at stoplights, etc. The battery pack that was in it was about 13 months old so it was still under warranty and we got it swapped with a new one, but nothing changed. The scanners the battery company have were far more advanced and pulled up more codes than I can. I’ll like them below. Has anyone had a similar issue? I have someone wanting to buy this car because I thought the new battery would fix it, but it didn’t.
Thanks,

P0A1F = Bad BCM or bad cell in HVTB.

Ignore the P1000, it ,means the vehicle hasn't been driven enough for the computer to go through all of its diagnostic tests since the last time codes are cleared.

P0A81: Are both HVTB cooling fans coming on?

I would suggest you get FORScan along with one of the VCIs they recommend, FORScan, especially if you get an Extended License, can do a lot.

Ive read some other people have had issues with the company we went with, GreenTec. I heard the fans working with the first battery we got from them, but I haven’t checked with this new second one. The next time I’ll get to do anything is this Friday so I’ll update then. Thanks!
