Always thought about going and buying one. Anybody here got one? Any tips on which to buy? I'm looking to spend around 500.00 for one.

Funny you should ask, I am into MDing and have the White's DFX. A bit more than you may want to pay but it save me a lot of digging because ot will tell you what is in the ground better than most. Best advise is to do a lot of internet research then look for a local store, ask them if there is a club in the area and attend a few meetings to see what is being used the most in that area.

Thanks for the advice! I'll look into that. I was thinking about a mid-line unit for starters. I'll have to do some more research.

And hey, welcome to the city!!!

Hi! Weebee. :) Friend of mine used to have a metal detector years ago. Is " Fossicking" the correct word?. He used to go exploring with this gadget and search for old relics.

I don't know. I never heard that term before. It has always been "metal detecting" to me.
