Austin TV stations are reporting he has died after cardiac arrest (according to TMZ) but friends in Houston are saying they haven't heard that on TV....just that he is hangin' by a thread.

Thats a lot to take in one day. I'm not ashamed to say I danced my *** off in the 80's to his music. He was one weird guy. But, he will live in legend.

Is it wrong that I'm not hugely upset by this? I do believe the man was amazingly talented and influential but sadly the Michael Jackson I respected and enjoyed disappeared a long time ago. It's a shame really. I do hope he is in a better place though and he's finally found peace...

On a side note: I'm actually a little disappointed that this had to happen today, the same day Farrah Fawcett passed. Unfortunately MJ's passing is going to "steel the spotlight". I was hoping Farrah's passing was going to bring more attention to Cancer and help fuel funding and donations to research. Cancer is such a terrible disease. I watched my best friend, a vibrant and amazingly beautiful young spirit, succumb to it at age 32. I'm currently watching and supporting a good acquaintance from my church who is battling multiple forms of cancer. I know what Farrah and her family went through and I really feel for them (and anyone dealing with the Big 'C'.) I hate Cancer!

I miss the old MJ......not the eccentric person he turned into.......loved, loved his music!!!
Funny, when I heard the news about MJ I told my husband "Watch this be the top story now instead of Farrah's death" and just now the "Top Story" on the Austin news was Michael Jackson's death. :cuss:
Sorry for your loss, Rob. I hate the big C too.

I have to agree with Dasha and Rob, it's too bad the timing takes the spotlight off Farrah. He was a very talented entertainer who had, for too many reasons, gone off the deep end. At least he's at peace now.

Good point JJ. They ahppen in threes usually. I guess that's the three.

Michael was probably a drug adddict on one kind or another. Folks that abuse drugs, as a generality, tend to become very paranoid.

Neverland Ranch was more a prison for him than a refuge and playground. He had people come and visit him on visiting days during specified hours. One might say an appointment, but then again. I can not get passed the other analogy of a prison.

Will I miss him? Nah! Like posted above, the man we knew as Michael Jackson has been long gone. His best work happened before he shut himself off from the public with Thriller, his best seller. Not necessarily his best work. Just my $.02.
