alright boys/girls 40 and up. what did you guys do for your midlife crisis. I just finished my last two tats. One i've wanted for about 25 years but didn't get it because I was too lazy to pay, never had to pay with the crew I was with. So while in Vegas I ran into a friend from the past and he did it up. the other one I just wanted to get my wife's initials to show her how awesome I think she is. So After 20 years of no tats, it's just as addicting now as it was back then in the 80's.
Share your midlife crisis trials and errors. I don't want to here about cheating on a spouse though!!! Now if your single that's another story but remember there are youngsters here!! :censor:

I am 57 now.
Mid-life crisis for me, began at age of 38 years old.
It usually is meant to happen, during the 40's age group.
My apology if '38' seems a bit early.

Anyway from the age of 16, i used to be a frequent patron of night clubs and discos.
This was every friday and saturday night.
Not every week, but about every second week.
I gave up the night club/disco scene cold turkey, upon reaching the age of 38.

There are no regrets, plus i enjoyed the music and socialising.
But i stopped night clubbing, because of being disillusioned.
Now keep in mind, i am not bagging those that enjoy those places.
Yes, i had fun and enjoyed, wearing my sunday best attire.
To summarise, i could feel that the novelty, was developing into boredom.
I have other hobbies, which actually for me, has made nightclubs/discos pale into insignificance.

Basically i could feel, myself being too old for that scene.
Quite happy with my changed lifestyle.
I go to pubs, for a quiet drink periodically.
Do not have a problem, with those that enjoy the discos, but it is not for me.
The cook, reading and computing, driving escape plus friends, but also photography keeps me content.

Discontinued visiting discos at 38 years old.
I am now a 57 year old fart, with no intention of ever returning to discos.
My apology if any be offended.
Basically it was a stage in life, but now i travel a journey, that is reasonably in tune with our " universe".
There are still rough patches, because of negative people.

But i have learnt to, ignore and avoid them.

I used to have severe problems, with negative souls during my younger years.

Hmmmm....
Well I'm 57 as well. About 10 years ago I got a tat.. a gecko.. on my right shoulder.. courtesy of a couple of weeks spent in Tahiti. Around about the same time I bought a sports car..yeah.. I know.. classic mid-life crisis stuff. :) It was an Audi TT Roadster...worth every cent and worth every chuckle from my friends. Actually around that time I did a lot of what you would call mid-life crisis things... some I can write about and some I shouldn't ;) I spent some time travelling.. Europe.. the South Pacific.. visited the States a number of times and almost moved to Texas permanently (courtesy of a marriage which is now thankfully just a memory).

These days I'm content...new wife.. old Escape... stressless job... interesting memories and experiences...

I could write a book.

LOL... That's what I'm looking to do now. I've been itching for a Mustang on and off since I turned 40 two years ago. I started a new car fund back then and I'm just waiting for it to have enough in it before I buy. It's probably a stupid thing to do since I'll need to keep my Escape (north east winters) & pay insurance on 2 cars. But... I'm not getting any younger and everyone I'm talking to is telling me now is the time. Lot's of repo's on eBay right now. If I see the perfect one I'm placing a bid... :calvin:

 no Mid life crisis here either (mid 20's). But my Father in law just got himself (last month he turned 50) a brand new BMW 135!

Turned 40 this year. No mid life crisis yet, but I suspect it will look something like a mid-80s Porsche 911 Targa. At least my wife will approve.

Come to think of it, I should probably get the paperwork on that pre-approved just in case I snap one day and arrive home in one.

"But honey, it has 4 seats...see, I can still take the kids to school...it's practical!"

I'll be turning 40 later this year and I have to say I don't feel like there's any crisis coming. Quite honestly I'm at the happiest time in my life right now. A beautiful daughter, a wonderful woman who will become my wife next year, a comfortable condo and a great ride in my parking spot. Work is good, I'm happy and healthy, lots of great friends and family around, maybe there will be time for a crisis later.

First a Corvette, then a snowmobile, then a personal watercraft, then a second snowmobile and now my 2010 Escape for towing the other motor toys other than the Corvette. It's gotten so bad that I may have to get rid of all the unnecessary stuff like lawn mowers etc to make enough space in the garage!

Heck, I'm 59 now. I suppose I won't be living to 118. So, it maybe it's past me by?

Humph! ;)

01 Mustang Bullitt is it I suppose. :cigar:

Or the flat panel TV with Blu-Ray DVD player? :shades:

Or continuing to work even though I am past being eligible? ;-|
