Recently purchased a mini maglite. It can be adjusted for broad beam or spot. Nice looking torch with a variety of colours to choose from. I chose the metallic red mini mag. Compact size and is easy to store in the car. It is reasonably light and ergonomic, but by the same token not too flimsy. Has a good solid feel to the overall weight even though it has petite dimensions.

Standard bulb or LED?

I've got something similar but the Sears version. It's a solid little all metal flashlight. I mine has a standard bulb (actually not so std because it was difficult to find a replacement when I needed one). I purchased it when I got my Escape and it's been useful. It's compact, bright and had a nice shiny red finish

Cool, and thanks, that's what is in the two that I have. I'm thinking of converting to LED, just one of those things way down the to do list right now...
