I usually have very specific requirements for keys, ones that rarely are off the shelf.

I want to add a minimalist key to my collection for my cars, these all fit in the space of 1/2 a key.

My 2012 Fusion and 2017 Escape can share the same remote fob (which is annoying if both vehicles are together, but that isn't what these keys are for).

I bought for $2 the key from inside a Jaguar smart fob (they are all HU101 blanks), and a $2 chip.

Fired up the 3D modeling software, and went through a few iterations, until I came up with a decent setup. I am going to do the lid 1mm taller so the right for the key is stronger.

I had an appointment to get all my spare keys cut, but the place that said they could do these (side bite? "laser"?) doesn't have the proper fixture, so the search continues.

And the others (I like the flip keys, and I want one to program as a MyKey for my son):

Oh, and why just 3D print a head, so I printed out the entire key. I am too chicken to turn it enough to go to accessory, but it works and I can start turning it. I don't think I will follow through with this unless I had better filament, maybe carbon fiber?

Hey bro, keys are metal for a reason… I would go to a lock shop and ask for a valet key.
I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to do, but the valet key still starts and moves your car without the PATS.

I want the smallest footprint key that will unlock the door and start the car. I don't think there are valet keys that do what you suggest for my vehicle, but I wouldn't want speed limited to 15mph either.

There are non IKT (key head with all the remote functions) solutions with this key blade type, but they are still pretty large. I am building one for my older car with the non sidebite cut key, because these are keys I keep in a bag always with me. It has came in handy once, and that is enough for me.

I am converting the small headed key with the fob attached to also be minimal, the head 1/4 the side of this one (I programmed the fob to control both cars):

While Ford does have "phone as key" for some newer vehicles with some configurations, mine isn't that.
