I took the motor out of 2009 Mercury manure and put a 2010 Ford escape motor in it and I can't get it to start why is that

Cranks, fires, won't stay running?
Same problem as motor replaced?
Other work done?
Any CEL and codes?
Why did we replace the motor?

the other motor in the in the Mercury the was bad put a 2010 Ford escape motor 2.3 we it cranks but it won't start no codes are coming up .

Check that the fuel pump 'primes' when you turn the key to ON. Pump should run for 3-5 seconds then stop, and you must listen. Pump under rear seat, drivers side.
Check for spark when cranking the engine trying to start. Remove a COP and stuff a spark plug in. Let plug touch cam cover, and crank. Look for spark.

2009 mariner and 2010 escape would be the 2.5 check your wire make sure plug everything back in. First plug I would check is the crank position sensor
