New to your forum, although have been going thru the many posts this past year..I own a 2017 Escape Titanium
model..Bought used about 14 months ago at a Toyota Dealership here in Tucson, Az...Had 33,XXX miles and has been
an excellent vehicle..It has the 2.0 Ecoboast turbo engine which I might add a real fun to drive..
Am a bit on the elder age (93) but still get around, having driven the Escape only 3,000 miles since purchase.
Do have one question..Is it normal to have not driven say 3 to 4 days to have some electrical compoments power down
causing them to be reset..?? My clock always lose 2 hours and my cell phone bluetooth needs to be brought
back on line. Not a real problem, but just annoying..Is this a built in feature to extend battery life...
Thanks for allowing me to become a member of this very helpful forum...

Welcome to the city, sir. Battery power is cut to some systems when dormant, but you shouldn't have to be resetting everything.
The 12 V battery in your vehicle is only good for about 5 to 6 years, you could be reaching the end of its life. If you go by a chain auto store, they can test it for free. It needs to be 'load tested', removed from the vehicle.
If you live in a cold weather climate, that has a way of showing when a battery is on its last legs.

Thank you for your reply...New battery by dealer 14 months ago,. The only two systems that need to be reset after vehicle
has not been driven as stated (4 or 5 days) are my bluetooth and the loss of just 2 hours on my clock..Again, thanks for your input..

Is your system set up for automatic updates? It needs Wi-Fi to do it.

Do you have the FordPass app on your phone? It is a great resource to what is happening with your car.

I did check awhile back with loal dealer salesman about these two problems, he said if vehicle isnt driven for an extended period of time (he didnt say or wouldnt say how many days) that some components will shut down to extend battery life, but was very vague about commenting himself..Again, this only happens when vehicle is not started for 4 or 5 days..In the past I did use the car usually daily but all stop/start diving like in the city..Had no problems whatsoever...To reset the clock and cell phone bluetooth takes less then 2 minutes so not very concerned..I will start the engine now at least every other day for a couple of weeks to see if solves the problem..Will keep you posted..Thanks for all the answers given..

On my 2017 Escape SE (RIP), it would go 3-4 weeks before it would go into deep sleep mode, and it would never affect loss of time or Bluetooth. I would get a message to FordPass that it was shutting down external access (that did not include the fob to unlock it, button push or Intelligent Access proximity). I left that battery in it long past it was due for replacement, it was down to less than 200 CCA and I couldn't sit and listen to music with the engine off, and auto start/stop was disabled. But it could still sit for a week and start up.

2-3 years is all your likely to get out of a battery. If it was replaced before the dealer had it, they sit for a long time on lots and die. I live in Tucson also, and last month I went to dealerships to look for a replacement for my 2017 Escape (totaled) and to get one vehicle out for me to look at, they had to use a jump box on 3 or 4 cars, they all had dead batteries (except the one I wanted to look at, but it was slow to crank).

Is the time something that is set, or does it get it from GPS or cell? I travel between time zones and thought I set it to auto switch and I remember it auto switching, even with the fact we don't do daylight savings.

Thank you so much for all the info..The time is something that is set, not GPS or cell..Funny thing the loss is exactly 2 hours, hours and minutes..As stated previously, its so simple to reset, have not bothered to investigate why..The bluetooth also is simple to reset, although that mostly was the reason for information.. I use the vehicle so seldom, rarely going more then 6 to 7 miles and have taken it out of town just once since I bought it, so am sure these minor problems could be due to usage..Again, am totally pleased with the car and love the titanium series..

OK, here's a weird thought from when I first purchased my new car. The dealership had plugged a low jack location device into the OBD II reader, that had to be removed. It actually messed with a couple of systems besides draining the battery
Mine did kind of the same thing. When I took it to the dealership, they looked at the OBD II port, and said, did you do this?
I wound up calling the dealership I bought it from, and asked them if it was theirs.
It was.

It is weird that it is a two hour discrepancy, because when it comes back on, it should read 12 noon

I bet it's location information, the GPS in your car thinks that you are in a different time zone, or the low jack does

They don't reset to 12:00 they retain the time they lose power, but it seems like there is an issue with part of the radio (like the ACM) as both issues are probably in the same area.

I no longer have my Escape, and my 2019 Edge has SYNC 3 3.4 (it was similar to SYNC 3 until I updated it), I was just setting it up and since we live in an area that doesn't do daylight savings, I think have to disable auto setting of timezone.

Plus 99% of the time I am in Android Auto or CarPlay and I see the time from my phone on the screen.

Thanks for your comments..Had not thought re the GPS possible diferent time zone..Am taking the vehicle in for tranny oil change next week (not dealer) and will ask them about the loss of time..
