On Friday my brother and I took a trip to look at some new wheels and tires for the escape. This was the result.
I know most of you wont like how far the tire sticks out from the fender, but I think it looks good, and mean as hell at the same time. My friends were going crazy over them too.

wheels: boss model 327, 20x8.5, 25mm offset
tire: falken Ziex S/TZ04, 275/45/20

anyways here's some pictures.

still debating on lowering it a bit...

anyways let me know what you think!

The wheels suit your truck, and it is good that you've got some sort of sidewall...They look good, and as long as they make you happy, then that's what counts :thumb:

I was thinking though...they must make the steering reflexes of the truck seem a lot different, as well as the handling characteristics, being so far out overall...How are they when driving around?

love the side back view. looks like an escape on steroids.
yes it does, looks a lot beefier than stock. I wasnt 100% happy with the width at first but like anything, it grows on you, now I love it.

The escape acceleration wise is a lot worse, because the wheels are larger diameter and probably quite a bit heavier. But the handling is pretty good, the steering is tighter and more firm, and I dont think I could spin this thing out if I tried. The ride is a lot smoother than my previous tires.

When driving in the rain, it looks like a sea-doo, the water "rooster tails" quite a bit. I have mud flaps that may help this when or if I install them.

Hello Jordan31. Shes lookin mighty purty, as in she looks quite pretty. Your escape has a good road image, with those tires and rims. Obviously the escape would present, a nice visual effect when you drive it. :) :thumb:

Lower just the back to even out the stance and wheel gap. It's always irked me how much taller the back is than the front on this thing. I'm thinking about lowering the Escape just to even it out myself  But that's just a downward spiral I don't want to start with this vehicle... yet.

Sweet! i think it looks awesome with the rims sticking out past the fenders! i have 20's on my escape and i wish they stuck out as far as yours! that gives it the bada$$ off-road look!
you should look into the aftermarket tail lights. on black they really change the look of the truck!
I'm sure you know what i mean but just incase here's a link for something like what i mean from ebay

Thanks man, I was thinking more along the lines of tinting the led tails that you can get, but those altezza's do look good tinted.

check out my 2 day wash and wax thread for more pics (and vid) of my setup, I think you might like what you see. :D

Just out of curiosity, what is the bolt pattern on your Boss Wheels? I wanted the 315's so bad but their bolt pattern would not allow it. Also what is it about the wheel that makes it stick out so far... the 8.5 measurement on them? What is the depth on the 16" stock wheels?

They do look great!

thanks for the compliment.

The offset is what brings my wheels out so far. I think the stock offset is something like +40 or +45. This is how far outward the hub sits from the center of the wheel. 0mm would have the hub directly in the center of the wheel, +40 would be 40mm to the outer edge, giving your wheel less of a "lip" if you know what I mean. and RWD vehicles usually have a lower offset, or a negative offset, so thats where my wheels come in, they are +25mm so that means my wheel sticks out 15-20mm further than the same wheel with an offset the same as stock.

My tires are 5cm wider than stock too, so that adds to the sticking out.

The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 5x4.5 the boss site says these are +25 offset for my wheel.

The wheel you are looking at is for bigger trucks / suv's i think, most of the bolt patterns are 6 x whatever, and some are 9.5 wide (f150s have 6 lugs)
