Just got an '11 Mariner this afternoon.

I've always appreciated the look and feel of the Mariner/Escape/Tribute and came across an offer I couldn't resist.

Traded in a Nissan Cube.

In its defense the Cube is incredibly roomy and efficent, but did not feel substantial at all after driving it for awhile. Road irregularities, potholes and speed bumps it did not like. Overall just felt cheap.

So now I have an '11 Mariner. I-4, FWD. Moonroof, SYNC and a few other things.

And, yeah, it really is *that* green!

:)

Thanks.

I'm diggin' the color. Definitely caught my eye.

I am a former Saturn enthusiast and always liked their "Electric Lime" color, though I never owned one.

A friend of mine has an Electric Lime VUE and we speculate his is one of about 3 made in that color. Well, maybe more than 3, but not many.

OMG!!!

What i like the most of that car?.... Very easy to retreive when in parking lot of a large shopping center. :hyst:

Seriously... What a color... I like it very much... IT'S..... fresh .... How old are you??

This color is one we see on new fiesta and it's oriented to young peoples so i guess your not very old.

Very nice Mariner there. You'll see lot of people looking at you in this gorgeous car...

Congrats!

Congratulations! I kind of like the green, don't see myself driving one but I do like it. :thumb:

You traded way up from the Cube in my opinion, no offense, I know there are people that love their boxes (my cousin has a Scion) but those make be cringe.

Welcome to the city! :welcome:

Congratulation on the new Mariner, it looks great. I like the color. Is that the Cube you use to own on the background of the first picture?
Yep, that's the old Cube in the background. Was the keen thinking of the (thankfully low-pressure) sales guy to get a picture of the old and new rides together.

Just realized there was a second page to this thread!

Thank you for the warm words of welcome.

I'm not offended by the Cube remark in the least.
I bought the Cube for the interior (where I spend all my time) and it is deceptively roomy. At 6'2" myself and a couple inches of spikey hair, it was one of the more accommodating cars I've owned.

Initially headroom was an issue when I test drove an Escape with a moonroof and a power seat. Thought I would have to forgo a sunroof. But the sales guy and I made a discovery that the manual seats sit lower in the vehicle and give more head room clearance.

So I am happy to manually adjust the seat in my Mariner underneath the moonroof :)

Out of curiousity, how durable is the silver finish on the console/stereo/HVAC?
Have there been any reports of it peeling, flaking, chipping, fading?

Many thanks...
