Hey guys,
Im new to the whole Escape scene (SUV/offroad scene in general) I just moved out of the import modding thing and moved onto something a bit more practical. I bought a 2002 Escape XLT 4wd V6 with 94K miles and a replaced tranny. It had some issues when i got it so so far i have done - 3 coilpacks (i hear they are common, of course i had to do the ones under the damn intake manifold), 6 plugs, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter (original owner never changed it, ive never seen a filter so black, wondered why my mpg sucked so badly), both front hubs, both front rotors, front pads, passenger front tie rod, spend 5 hours detailing and steam cleaning, replaced all wiper blades (bosch icons :), replaced all front bulbs (sylvania silver stars), repaired remote start, and Ive got 4 Sumitomo off road tires on order. Ive got a few more plans for it but for the moment im just glad its working well. Ill post pics sometime soon.

Sounds like you're going to have a good SUV when you're all done, I've done a few overhauls like that myself (most recently my Jetta). You'll enjoy it, these are good vehicles. Lots of info on this board too, I can't wait to see pics!

welcome to the site!

Glad to hear that Escape found a home and an owner that'll take better care of it.

hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. We were doing a photoshoot for Boston Fashion this week and I had my Escape out on frozen Lake Winnipisaukee. Got some great pictures. I also just got a new grill and hitch step on today and tomorrow the 235/70/16 Sumitomo offroad tires go on. (Ill take more pictures then) Im looking at some new seats to replace the incredibly uncomfortable front seats this weekend :)

the snowy background is actually frozen Lake Winnipisaukee, we were up there shooting a model in spring fashion for Boston Magazine. Youve never seen a 110lb model shiver like that :)

Hey Walkingchaos, are you from NH, or just here for the photo shoot? I'm from the greater Nashua area, on the border with MA.

I love the lakes region, but haven't been up there in winter in many years, since I gave up skiing. Very nice pictures.

Im actually from south of boston down near the cape. The art director wanted this vast wasteland of ice behind her . . . that was the biggest frozen lake we could get to in good time :)
