Saw this another forum and I'm really liking the look! Got me thinking, I really wanted new black rims, but i just bought a set of new tires so I don't want them going to waste, and after some thinking I might bring these to my brothers shop and get them powder coated black. Gonna photoshop this pic to make them black to get an idea of what it'll look like. Figured I show you guys how it looks.

Got hit pretty bad again on Long Island..

I think my only concern would be the part in the middle that was covered going to rusting hell... I wonder if the rim caps on the newer models would cover that completely??

I was thinking, I may just fiberglass a new cap that sits flush, since I like really like the way it looks now and I think itll look just as good flush, not sure if fiberglass is my best bet but its all I have so im gonna try it. Possibly over the midterm break

I want to but I want black rims, cant find ones I want and know will look nice, and still be the same size as the stock rim (16x7) so i can still use my tires.

I have seen some nice results from people either painting, or the more durable option, power coating, their rims. Another option, that sounds crazy but I've seen photos of and looks good, is bedliner.

Something to keep in mind is you probably want to leave the outer lip un-coated since no wheel weight I've ever seen was black. Also, the weight will probably cause chipping and peeling of any coating, so leave it a place to damage that is largely unnoticeable.

My brothers moped shop has a powder coating machine, so thats definitely an option, however, I really want to know what itll look like before hand. Cant find any pictures of the stockers black, aside from the 03 and up rims, which actually looks great on.
