Long time no post! The wife has been driving the Escape so I haven't been involved with it for a while. But I take it for a drive, and...

There is an odd noise coming from the exposed pulley on the right side of the engine (the one extending from the valve cover, has a belt that goes to another pulley just below). Its sort of a grinding sound, but not like a "oh man I better fix this right now" sound. Its definitely not normal. I can't tell if its coming from the bearing at the pulley, or whatever component the belt is driving.

Anyone else had this problem? Is there something common that goes wrong in that area?

Thanks, as always!
