Does anyone have the old diagram that was made to upgrade your 01-04 headlights to 05+. It showed the wire diagram with the new connections and the automotive relay. It was also the modification that allowed the high beams and low beams to function together. Its only downfall was that it deactivated the high beam indicator. I just wanted to see what I had done to my Escape before I attempt to modify it to the new relay and wiring that Jpark recommended.
I already purchased the relay and its sitting on my desk waiting to be installed.

You're lucky that I never delete old files.

:D

To make the new circuit easy to understand, all I did was add another pole to the relay. One end of the new pole goes to the "new line" (in the old diagram above), and the other end goes to the non-grounded side of the high-beam indicator, but only after you cut and insulate the existing feed to the non-grounded side of the high-beam indicator.

do you have the diagram to the instrument cluster in the 04 ford escape? because there are three harness at the cluster. the center one has two LG/BK wires in it. I dont know which one is the one to cut for the high beam indicator. Maybe you could point me to the correct one? please? pretty please?

Here's the connector diagram:

You want to use the LIGHT GREEN with BLACK STRIPE wire that is not next to the LIGHT BLUE with BLACK STRIPE wire. It's located at Pin 14, the fourth wire from the lower right side of the connector as shown. Yes, it is documented as the "low beam" connection, because the 2001-2004 high beam indicator is wired in series with the low beam wiring so that it lights when the low beams are off.

Read that again to make sure that you're going to cut the correct wire. It's the fourth one, not the fifth one, from the lower right side of the connector.
