Ok so i am planning on painting all the light grey plastic trim on my green escape to black. has anyone ever done this before? when you take off the trim are there clips that will break and need to be replaced? help me get started!
what color? i plan on painting mine black to match the rest of the escape. they make the mirrors blank, and the roof rack black, and the handles black, and the tires black, and i tinted the windows black. but they put on grey cladding.
i have a forest green escape and im painting them black... and yes ford is so dumb sometimes, they should have been black, would look soooo much better
I am going to be doing this and have both bumpers and all the fenders off but am unsure about how to get the cladding off the doors and the pieces right under the doors. Anyone know how to get those off?
yea but you can pretty much guarantee you'll break half of the plastic clips in the process. ford doesnt know how to make these without breaking everytime you pull them off of something... be prepared to spend some cash on new ones
I was wondering if anyone had done this yet. Also, are you guys planning on getting a smooth finish, or leaving it textured? I'm thinking about doing this myself, but I would want to make them smooth and shiny. Does anyone know how to do that?
I have done this, It cost me 30$ i got a few cans of plastic paint at walmart, it took 3 hrs and i didnt have to replace any plastic anchor srew things , mine were grey now black, it can be done , do it in a non dusty place and they dry in about 30 min takes about 4hrs before it is totally dry.
Right, but are yours still textured, or smooth? I'm pretty sure I could paint them as they were, but I wanted to have them painted like they are on the newer models.
