Here's a place for inspirational, funny, or thought-provoking quotations or stories.

You guys made me think of this...

Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it...

Ooohhh. I'll play along.

This is a story that my father told us a lot when we were growing up. It's very old because he was very old and it pre-dated him.

The Frog In The Ox Track

Once upon a time, a long time ago when life was much simpler and slower, there were three frogs travelling together along a dirt road. It was a Saturday evening and they were on their way to their favorite pub, dressed in their finest, to share a good time of drinking and merry making. This they did with great abandon, becoming rollicking drunk in the process.

Now, much wobblier than before, they were heading home when they came upon an ox track in the road that was quite broad, with no discernable bottom. One of the poor intoxicated amphibians stumbled a little too close to the edge and fell in. As it had been raining recently, the track was much too deep for him to jump out of or for an effective rescue to be mounted by his buddies. They were too busy laughing hysterically and didn't want to get their best clothes dirty anyway. So they continued on, weaving their way home, laughing and singing at the top of their lungs, leaving their helpless friend alone to spend the night in the ox track.

The next morning the two frogs and their wives were on the way to church, trying to keep the previous evening's revelry a secret from their spouses, when they happened upon the same ox track that their drunken pal had fallen into. To their amazement, sitting up on the edge of the track, brushing dirt from his good clothes sat their friend.

Well, they couldn't believe their eyes, for the ox track was very deep indeed and there was no way their friend could have gotten out. They inquired of him as to how he had come to be relieved of his dilemma. He answered, "A snake came along and I had to get out!"

With the proper motivation, we can achieve what we set our minds to.

"The bitterness of poor quality remains, long after the sweetness of low price has been forgotten". I came across it at a furniture shop many years ago.
