I suppose I should have more patience for those who want to set themselves apart, but I thought this was perhaps a little silly.

I wish I had a picture of it (the barcalounger was doing 75 at the time) but I took the liberty of using some examples of Escape City's best to illustrate.

Basically a 2nd gen Escape owner took and put the F-150 Harley edition badges on their Escape.
1.) It just don't exist.
2.) It's an interesting thought but the idea didn't fit well.
3.) If I had an F-150 Harley edition and saw this I'd be like "What the Cuss!".

The side placement. Lower front of the door.

Had a BIG one on the rear.

Thoughts?

Personally, if it said F-150 Harley edition I would say he's a buster. If it was just a Harley badge he bought from the dealer, that's ok. I see alot of Harley badges on different cars down here in Florida, and I don't think it's any different from Steelers badges or hunting stickers.

Don't be offended. As they say imitation is the highest form of flattery. If you owned the real thing.. Lucky you! I'd bet 3/4 of the Harley decals you see are by non owner wanna-bees.
I used to have a 66VW with a Custom emblem off a Ford and a 350 emblem off an Old Nova... and candy paint flames down the hood and sides. Purely humorous. The lady that bought it from me loved them.

My Bowtied Z 240 Datsun has the sacred Crossed flags of a Classic Vette on the side. Vette guys typically see it from the rear, but when they see under the hood and do comment its always been positive.

It's his Escape, I suppose he can be a Poser if he wants to. I doubt that he is really trying to fool anyone, more like he is "bragging" about his Harley envy.

I had a friend back in the day of the early Rabbits. He owned a particularly ugly yellow VW Rabbit. On the front he had a Peterbuilt red oval on the grill :wacko: . He thought it a piece of ultimate sarcasim. I thought it to be crap ;-| . But he liked it. :shrug:

I never understood why even the F150 would get a Harley badge. It's not like it was designed by Harley engineers or uses any of the same parts.
Creating vehicles in a Harley edition or Nautica or Eddie Bauer just seems like a money grab on the part of the manufacturer.
A name that announces a design change was made like Shelby, Roush or Saleen is a whole other game, I would gladly buy a vehicle with one of those names on it.

BTW... I meant the barcolounger was doing 110 (right before the govn'er stopped the fun... not that I know that would happen... ), it FELT like 75.

I've seen worse on an Escape -- waaaay worse. I wish I would have snapped a cell phone pic, but it was right in front of an Advanced Auto, and the owner was right inside. It had the following (I can remember):

- V4 badge -- YES V4. -- no -- it's not.

- Turbo emblems (many) -- and NO -- it wasn't

- Fake stick-on porthole vents - my pet peeve

- every piece of Lund plastic add-ons you could imagine -

- 22" chrome wheels - it's a good thing it's got a Turbo V4to make those things roll.

I really was going to take a pic. If the owner came out, I already had my speech planned: "sweet ride! I have a Mariner -- the Escape twin (because I'm sure the owner didn't know that). I hope you don't mind if I snapped a pic to get some ideas for my ride".

I'm sure Buick executives and stylists were aiming at the Lexus line when they designed the Barcalounger, but I beleive they hit the older Taurus. You blue ovals on the car just proved that. :bag:

I think the badge looks great on the Escape. There may not be a HD Escape, but if they did........... it would look marvelous!!!!!

actually i kinda like the looks of a badge on the side view, maybe i will look for something like that, but not a harley badge... i have nothing against harley but thats not my style. btw i pulled my friends car out of a ditch last night... dang these vehicles are CAPABLE, thru snow, sleet, rain... oh wait thats the post office... :thumb:
