Product reviews, why have they been censored, as quite a few of us were entertained by some of them, as they did provide a little bit of joviality.
Ok, the review section may not have been developing quite as initionally intended, but to just remove them, without at least asking other members of the forum for their views first, well, it kind of reminds me of something..
What has to be taken into account is that whilst some people might not like what has been posted, and the reviews dealt with, there are many others whom have gained a little , if not a lot, of enjoyment out of it, you only had to look at the number of posts by various members to see that.
I know that I'm not alone when I express a little dissapointment at the "Censorship" ( I used that phrase after a lot of thought BTW) that has happened, as nobody really expected that to happen on this site.

This was discussed amongst the moderators for almost two weeks. Product Reviews should be kept to products related to car care, maintenance, and operation. Nothing was censored - you will find the old posts in their appropriate forums, be they Tailgate Chat, Anything Goes, Pictures, etc.

I do the same in other forums such as the How-To forums. If a topic does not belong, it is moved to the appropriate forum.

Well, I for one, was very dissapointed that the above mentioned action was taken, as none of the reviews posted actually broke any rules posted by the board for that particular topic, but now they have all been jumbled up, and the relevance of each post has now been lost to any new members who join, as they will have no idea of the context in which they were origionally posted.
I must admit, though, I've had quite a few emails about this action from other members, and they felt that I'd be the best person to put our views forward, because we feel that the action taken, in the scheme of things, was unwarrented, and not required.
Yes we can understand moving a "how to" topic to a more relevant location, etc, but the feeling left is what else will happen next.

Nothing was "censored" or even deleted. Posts were moved to another part of the forum.

They were moved so that Product Reviews could be actual... er... product reviews.

And, actually, the new locations of product reviews of beer, lager, bananas, toast, jump ropes, juice glasses, pasta strainers, staplers, ball-point pens, gutters, pudding, downspouts, and other non-specific product reviews are more suited to their new locations, so I don't see how "context" is lost.

I'm lost as to why this is such a crisis.

Hey Cammy we really do apologize if we hurt anyone. It was not meant. I sat down thinking one day...what if a new member comes in here and sees product reviews, hoping to look for a car related product review area...they open up the forum and they are readying about beer, cheese, laptop vs desktop, etc... I found humor in all of the posts. Nothing against the posts, but we felt it would make for a better fit for the forum. Does that make a little more sense? Anyone else have any comments/concerns? We are here to please so do not hesitate to talk to any mod either in this thread or on PM.

Thanks for your understanding guys. We are doing great at making this the best forum around! ;)

I don't feel disgruntled. But i can appreciate ,that it would be relevant for certain topics ,to be aligned with the context that is appropriate to them. Yes i know. me has a strange way of trying to explain things. :) ;)
