I have a couple quick questions for anyone who has tinted their front windows on their escape/mariner to match the factory privacy glass...
How much did you pay just for the front two windows to match..
How long did it take the shop to do it...

I've got an appointment to get mine done on Friday..the guy is charging me $80 and said it would only take an hour. He does very nice work, a freind of mine had all of his windows smoked on his civic and they came out great. But I just wanted to see if the price was fair or not...

Have not tinted my front window. Australian design rules are very strict about it. Not sure about other australian states, but for my state it is a no go. I have no desire to be inconvenienced. Do not want to be defected.

The rear cargo bay glass is tinted. I have dark tint on my passenger windows, and drivers " side window". But the actual front window, is not allowed to be tinted. This law is strictly enforced.

I'm thinking about doing the same...tinting the front door windows to match the back windows...

Does anyone know what percent the tint is from factory? I matched my dads 2000 z71 with 35% and it looked perfect, but the escape looks darker like 20%...? Just curious thanks.

its darker then 35, i got mine at 20% and its a nice match.

I would love to match the rear windows to the front, but the po-po around here take notice to that kind of thing. Though I am thinking of just getting the legal limit put in on the front windows. 35% in MA. 20% would be awesome.

here is the closest that could be matched. the rear windows are factory. just the front door glass got tinted.

and the plug only hung out like that for a few days lol, cause i broke the clip. but i repaired it a few days after.

Mine cost me $60 and about 30 minutes of labor. I think mine is at 20% you can notice that the front is darker than the rear if you really look at it...other than that you can't tell.

When I got mine done the guy just matched them, he didn't mention a percentage. I'm sure your shop can do it if they're compitent. I paid $70 for front windows and windshield strip:

thats because there is more light behind it. the other windows have twice as much tint blocking the light. the front glass has a non tinted windshield behind it.

I have to agree with the majority here. ~$50-60 and asked to match factory so unkonwn % about an hr or less. Walked the kids next door to fast food w/indoor playground and it was finished long before they were!
