So im itching to get my navi deck back in service. Ive been missing it ever since I prepped my old car for the trade. I've tried to search around, but I'm a little confused so if anyone could help me sort this mess I appreciate it.

I bought a 09 xlt without sync this evening. I have a Kenwood DNX8120 with all the extras that I want to install. I have a tentative list of parts so far.

-Dash Kit

-Wiring harness: Do I need this one??? It would be nice to keep the RAP but is stupid expensive for a harness.

-Steering Wheel Adapter

-Sirius antenna adapter: I think this is what i need to continue using the factory sirius antenna with my aftermarket setup.

So do i need to get all this? Or are there cheaper options available????

Yes, yes, and YES. It is expensive but the RAP stuff is really a bitch to deal with without it. Unless you enjoy wiring relays and all that. At least with these harnesses, you don't have to hack any wiring.

Alright well at lest now I know. I'm not too concerned about the price as long as it makes the install easier. I take it I will lose the display above the radio? And I see that both metra and pac offer a kit does anyone know which one is better?

There was a model of wiring harness that keeps the display on a separate screen, I think. But honestly, it just shows "Ford Escape" or "Mazda Tribute" on there, like the radio is powered off. Seems to work fine.
