The right turn signal (or indicator) on my 2009 Ford Escape randomly comes on. The only way to turn it off is to move the indicator into the turn left position. After 10-15 mins are so the left sign/indicator will come on, then I have to switch it back to the neutral or off position. That will last for about 5 minutes and then the right turn signal will come on again. Then I repeat the process as long as it takes to get home.

To try and fix the problem I've replaced the switch unit completely, totally remove the u-haul installed hitch unit, replaced all the bulbs, and swapped the fuse. no luck.

I took it to a mechanic, but he just told I already tried everything he would have tried.

Would it be be the clock spring? It's on the column, not the wheel.

sad not. In the end I took it to a dealer, he first thought it was the switcher module. I told them it's not that - changed it already. So in the end they swapped the SJB ( smart junction box) and it seems to have fixed the problem (800$ dollars later)

Hi! I know this post is a couple years old, I'm wondering if replacing the SJB was the ultimate fix? I'm having the same issue, curious if the problem ever came back before is spend $800.
