Hello, first time posting and got a real odd ball question. Does anyone know if you can fit a hatch from a 2008 body style onto a 2010 body style? I can tell the curve in the body line won't be the same but everything else seems to be almost identical. I'm asking because I only have access to the older one for a replacement at the moment. Thank you for your time

Welcome to the city, Emery
Will they let you test fit it? Shouldn't hurt anything.
I would measure hinge spacing at least, before you go any further.

Thanks and yea I can it's mine to try if I take it. Just looking for some insight. Once I take the current one off if this one doesn't fit I'll have to have one that does fit lined up. The one on right now is damaged and I don't think I'll be getting it back on once it's off.

Hi Emery,
please respond to folks posts, that way they are notified.

I would say do not remove it, until you take some measurements.
Do you have a tape measure, can you measure the distance between the hinges? You are measuring outer edge to outer edge, or inner edge to inner edge. See in which location the wiring loom goes from the body into the hatch.

Measure the depth of the lock mechanism from the inside plastic molding, on each one.

if you are stumped by this project, YouTube it. Purchasing it to see if it fits was not what I was asking.

There will be wiring involved. Re-hanging body panels/doors is not a one person job. Body lines do not matter. Hinge location, latch location, and wire loom location are the only things that are important.

Ok thanks for the pointers on what best to check. Also I don't have to purchase it, it's a friends so that's not a big deal. I appreciate the help.
