Just in the last couple of days my wifes 2009 Escape has started to squeek when she hits a bump. It sounds like it is coming from the rear left wheel. I looked at the shock and sway bar and everything is hooked up right. There is nothing inside the vehicle to make the noise and no snow or ice under it. Has anyone had a similar issue with this area? The vehicle has 20000 miles on it and has been maintained by the dealership with no other problems so far. Thanks, Mike

It could be the OE rear shocks or rear spring. I've read articles not about the '09 but about several "E"s that had the OE shocks go out fairly new. Thats where I'd start. I done a lot of suspension work on the "E" and it's a pretty simple change out.

I would think the squeak would come from the spring rubbing on the upper boot. Wasnt ther a TSB on that?
