Got my escape today, I tried the remote entry and it's not working. I took the following steps:

I changed the battery, just to make sure it wasn't a dumb easy fix

I attempted to reprogram, you have to flick back and forth 8 times, then the doors lock, it tells you to push any button on the remote, which i then did, and nothing happens. it says that it will unlock but it didn't so i'm kinda stuck here. I really don't want to go to the dealer and pay a fortune for something like this so any help would be appreciated, thanks

Go to a locksmith /key shop,most have a test station where you can test your remote, because the remote itself may be bad.

Did you hold the button for 5 seconds or so? I would go back Ford.
