The guys down at my Ford-based "QuickLane" told me that I need to have some rear gaskets replaced where there's some fluid leaking around the rear differential(?). They quoted me $350 for parts and labor, and I was wondering if you all thought that made sense. My 'scape is a 2005 with almost 80k miles on it.
I had the same thing about 2 months ago. I can't remember exactly what I paid but it was somewhere between $250 and $350 (parts, labor and new fluids) at the local Midas Muffler shop. I think it was just over $300. I might be able to find the receipt when I get home tonight.
I was crawling around under Cognito the other day in preparation for some skid plates and other such fanciful things and noticed the green fluid. I had the shop boys confirm and evaluate at my 75k/80k checkup.
