Saturday night was the Riverfire night here with fireworks and a dump & burn by the F-111's

Had a BBQ on the back deck and watched the fireworks - at least the high ones. Then the F-111's did their dump and burn. It is an awesome sight.
Unfortunately this year will be the last time for the F-111's and the last dump & burn for Riverfire festival as the F-111's are being retired this year and they are being replaced by Super Hornets.

I live about 100 miles from an Air Force Base that used to exclusively operate F-111 aircraft. I think they retired them here about 20 years ago. The last ones probably filtered out through the Air National Guard in the mid '90s. I don't think there are anymore in flight condition in the United States. If Australia is retiring them, then that might be the last flyby of an F-111 you ever see.
