I just Purchased my new 08 Escape yesterday. I would like to have Sirius radio but the only thing my escape has is the SAT button. I was wondering if anybody else has went back and had Ford install the other necessary compartments (like the antennae and plug ups) and how much they charged or even if it is possible.

Go check the stealership and find out for us. I would like to know th price too just for FYI purposes. I have an aftermarket HU and I took the SAT receiver but not the antenna.

You're better off probably doing an aftermarket install where the Sirius antenna is not as exposed or conspicuous as the OEM Sirius antenna. There's a hole in the roof made for the OEM Sirius antenna that seems like a major inconvenience to deal with if there's not one already there. I also feel like I've spotted some of the Sirius components on eBay before, so maybe you can get the OE components but go with some witty antenna design or something.

Also, as a future heads-up, we tend to avoid double posts... but no worries, it's not like you get strikes or anything. :)

I fished around on the Sirius and XM sites and the Ford site for my 2007. No longer available. I did find that there are receivers, connection modules, cables and antennae available from a site on the web.
I estimated the cost to be around $200 for all the bits and pieces, plus the monthly sub fee. If I were to get the service, I would get a mobile receiver that could be plugged into the home stereo so I could use the service whether at home or in the car.
There was one model that plugged into the 'power outlet', aka cigar lighter, and broadcast its satellite signal on an unused FM frequency, and, I think, had the options of using L/R RCA phono type inputs if the stereo had them available.

If you have a smart phone you can get XM or Sirius on your IPHONE, ANDROID, BLACKBERRY, etc.. Then just hool up the head set up from the phone to the AUX on the stereo, in your/our case at the bottom of the center dash console. Then you can save alot of money on equipment.
