I don't know how many of you are aware but the sct flash programmer works for the escape/tribute. I had custom tunes made and it can be uploaded to a sct xcal3 for tuning your escape or tribute. I have an 03 tribute with the 3.0 v6 in it, same v6 as in the escape. At the height of the gas prices I decided to order 1 to get better mileage out of it since the stock fuel mileage was crappy. (15l/100km city) from my tribute. So it ran me 400 for the tuner and I paid extra for the tunes. The tunes I can email to someone for a small price of course with payment via paypal. With the tune for gas economy I got 13L/100km a savings of 2l/100km which from what I gather is about average for city and highway made about a 3-4L/100km difference on regular gas. There are 4 tunes in total including a performance tune and a towing tune and 1 for mid grade gas tune. It can also be used to scan codes and on other ford vehicles. Overall I think it was worth the buy and was very happy with it. So if any of you want to save on gas and get a handy programmer I recommend this 1.

i just got a sct livewire...and thanks to Torrie...i now have a custom tune for it. just waiting on getting it back from sct (it was locked) and ill let you know the results. before i shipped it i did plug it up and the monitoring features and stuff are sweeeeet on it. cant wait to get it hooked up though and programmed though.

my livewire is on a ups truck now going to sct to be unlocked. and i should have it by the first of next week. im so excited to mess around w/ that thing and load the tune torrie made for me. ill post up how much i enjoy it

well i finally got my livewire hooked up and tuned to the 87 octane. :woohoo: as far as gas mileage. it sucks w/ it. for some reason i have felt the need to continue to run my SOTP dyno...which proves a good improvement. but once i get done playing on this tank of gas and fill back up ill post on the real results of the gas mileage as ill keep my foot out of it and will be driving back home from my brothers...so ill have a highway driving result for you guys. (wont be speeding too much so itll be good numbers since my last trip back from my brothers forced me to send the kentucky state police a $173 gift certificate :bust: ) but so far me likey.
This question is a little old but I'm the first to purchase a SCT Xcal/3 or X3, whatever you want to call it for a 09 Escape V6. I tried it out last Thrusday and it errored. Contacted my dealer and they were intouch with SCT engineering trying to fix the problem. No answer as of yet! My dealer assured me a full refund if they can't get it to work.andjayik said:

Update: Got the word today to return the X3 as it'll be months before it'll work on a '09 Ford Escape which the dealer wasn't informed of either! The dealer even spent a good chunk of change on the '09 Ford database that isn't needed right now.

im about to book mine in to one of the top tuning houses in aus to get an xcal 3 with the 3 dyno tunes done
hopeing for a little more kick but wil be happy with nicer shifts and better fuel economy
not sure if any one in aus has put one on an escape befopre as the place in useing apparenlty made a few calls to some one in the usa regarding being able to do the escape, this place uses them on alot of xr6t faclons and have soem very nice results with them so hopinf all goes well.
