Headed for 12K miles and no squeaks. I do have some tire noise, that's about it.

The Escort started doing it this winter, but not the Escape. Hopefully you can get it taken care of under warranty.

If you bought yours new, and have owned it for less than one calendar year it is warranty adjustable.

It is probably just a slightly loose nut holding one part to another. Maybe even the radio or HVAC controls. Usually there are some center stack braces. I don't know if the E/M/T has one or two. But it makes sense that there be one in that location to prevent dash flutter.

Hey dude i own a 2008 ford escape limited and im also having squeaks on the center console!!! its driving me nuts!!! i own a 2006 ford fusion and not one squeek!!!! Wouldnt it be better since its newer!!! i dont get this but i also noticed a bolt lying on the passenger side floor last week and i looked everywhere for where it might have come loose from and couldnt find it. i hope you have luck with those squeeks and tell me how are they doing. I noticed it though that it is worst when its really cold but now not so much. The rattle kinda sounds like a loose clip or something. How does yours sound??? I will bring the car in soon for service since i need to rotate the tires soon. I love this truck but man who is in charge of NVH should be fired..OH one question do you have scratches on the side windows of you escape??? ive noticed up and down scratches on mines and on other escapes in the area with the same problem hmmmm is this a design flaw????

yes I'm still having the squeaks problem , it sounds like 2 plastic parts rubbing . since yours is a limited ,i wonder if it's the shiny black center face they use only on limited :wall: , I'm taking it in this coming Monday to my dealer :fan: , i hope they can solve this once and for good . it was so bad this weekend . only happens when i hit a batch of crappy roads ,which is all the roads here in Michigan.

where are these scratches ? take a photo and show us

My 2001 is FULL of squeeks and rattles. I think all the bumpy 4x4 trips we used to do has shaken the dash apart. Almost every Ford i've been in has had the Ford rattle

thanks for the reply..the scratches are on the side windows and are fine scratches going up and down. I tried taking a pic but its really hard to see unless you look closely. its fine scratches and its hard to remove. I was told its the felt thats causing it due to it collecting dirt and junk. I tried using a scratch remover to no avail. it sucks but overall a good truck. Oh since you have a 2009 did you do any mods on it yet. I changed all the fluids to royal purple and boy it did make a difference. and a K&N airfilter really made it run better.

ok , i did take my car to the dealer today to fix the "dashboard squeaks", after
convincing the repair man that it needs to be repaired :wall: ( he kept saying he doesn't
hear it  ) here what we found.
there is 6 clips -where the face attached to the dashboard body, highlighted
in the photo- where causing the "squeaks" when driving over a bumpy road.
he added a rubbery/clay kinda of a paste on these clips that kept them from
moving and causing the noise . so far it worked . :yahoo:
hope this can help others with the same problem.

I have this problem in my 07 escape,it didn't start up until recently after I replaced the tan colored radio bezel with a black one when I put a new stereo.I have been going nuts hearing this sound! Only thing I would do was turn radio louder :cuss: after reading your post here I am now going to try this out! Thanx! :thumb:

My escape dashboard has random squeaks. They don't bother me, as the squeaking is not overly prominent. Also it is not too loud.

They were not there, when i first purchased the car as new. I have done, a reasonable amount of exploring on unsealed roads. This would have eventually had an effect. On my previous ford sedans, the dashboards allways had the periodic squeak.

I agree with Brent that it appears to be a Ford quirk. :)

alright heres the scoop i brought my 08 escape limited to the dealership for the squeak and rattle on the dash and rear hatch and they said they couldnt find or hear anything. Man i was so annoyed since they had the car for 2days and couldnt hear anything i think thats bull cause i just drove off the parking lot and heard the squeaks i was complaining about. Any ways i went home and did this my self.

I pulled the center console out first and removed the bottom part of the center console. Then the center console was removed. There are no clips on the face itself. It looked like 6 pieces of tape or plastic that pushed against the frame of the dashboard. Are these the clips that you were talking about?? If so i added electrical tape over them so that it insulated the noise even more. So far the noise went away but i havent drove over bumpy roads yet. well for the hatch rattle a little electrical tape on the bottom latch worked and no more hatch rattle.

if you tap with you fingers on the side of the dash board ,you will hear the same squeaking noise , after the work ,it's very solid nothing is moving. i think you may need something more flexible as a cushion . i don't know what the guy used in the dealership.
it looked like clay/rubber/glue like substance . :worry:
