i bought a new steering leather wrapped steering wheel w/ cruise and audio controls for my 08 and was curious about how to properly remove the airbag w/o it going boom.

I don't believe that anyone here should answer that. If you don't know, and don't have the technical resources/references to do it, you shouldn't.

there is a procedure for disarming your airbag, but i dont feel safe handing it out to someone who i dont know is a mechanic. ive set a ew off in the junk yard by hitting cars on purpose lol.

im not a mechanic...but am pretty mechanically inclined. if removing it is that difficult and dangerous...then ill just take it somewhere. that way if they blow it...they can replace it. i just need to see if the clock spring on it is the same as my new steering wheel w/cruise and audio controls vs. my old one w/ just cruise. if it was i was gonna change go ahead and pull it off while i had the airbag out.

When i had the accident with previous EL falcon, the fire brigade people disabled airbag immediately.
