I recently bought my friend's 2010 mercury mariner premier v6 awd.. I got a steal of a lifetime for being only 150k miles and being a Georgia suv its whole life.. Anyways it has the sub, nav head unit steering wheel controls backup camera etc.... it's malfunctioning. the deck is fried and powering on and off. so I wanted to install my kenwood deck in it. i am parting out my 2007 mariner due to severe rot. my kenwood deck is Maestro compatible etc. so my question is. I know the clock is set by the head unit. IF I install Maestro will I lose the ability to set the clock on the dash?

I don't think it will show the time any longer, along with most radio stuff, but will still show "Ford Escape", temp (if it does now), some HVAC stuff (if it does now), compass, etc. There is a hack to do it but it requires quite a bit of work to do, I never really got it to work, using an micro controller, this is one link to it, Ford Dash Display (FDIM) controller

so if anyone could answer this for me. I found a lincoln nav unit. same connections same deck etc. would this be a plug-and-play? i rather go that route than install maestro. That's like 250 bucks i don't want to spend right now. yes i realize there is pac and axxess but they don't retain the reverse camera and such,.
