I have a 2004 Limited, and now that I have the sub etc installed, I noticed a ton of rattling. I originally thought it was the passenger door, but through trial and error discovered it is the 2 plastic compartments up top, intended for a garage opener and glasses. Any suggestions to stop the rattle without being able to see anything on the outside? I don't use either compartment, but the rattle is bad.

My solution was sticky-felt, like the OEM's use.

I bought a 12x8 sheet of felt with adhesive on one side. I found it at JoAnn Fabrics. It cost 1.99 a sheet. I used it all over my Escape. I took care of all the creaking or rattles. The car sounds like a luxury car now. :yahoo:

Also the nice thing about the sheet is that the felt is super thin but still thick enough to stop creaks and rattles. My major noises were from the center dash panel, console, and the rear cargo cover(connection points)

I had the same problem after I put my sub in a month or two ago, what i wound up doing was pulling on the clip so it closes tighter, it works for weeks at a time. Eventually the clip is going to break so I might as well pick up some adhesive.
