Thanks, stone!!
My family got out of Galveston yesterday. Took 6 hours instead of the normal 3.
The Austin area schools are dismissing early today to get the kids/buses off the congested roads due to the influx of evacuees. Thanks, Ike......we get out out 2 hours early. :D
Expecting some heavy rain and strong winds tomorrow but nothing like what the peeps on the coast will face.
Keep everybody in the path Ike in your thoughts and prayers!!

I agree with weebee.

If you haven't filled up with gas, you might want to. Gasoline has gone up 10 - 15 cents per gallon between the time my wife and I left home this morning to when we got back home. Reason given was there is this hurricane coming in Texas.

Everyone in the path of Ike keep a low profile. We are thinking about you.

Thanks guys, I think that I am safe up in DFW. About a four hour drive from the coast. The roads northbound from Houston area are clogged pretty well, but it could be worst. Only low lying area folks are being requested to evacuate. Houston City limits northwards, isn't from what I hear.

What he said above. Price of gas jumped over $.32 for the gallon. Way over what the stuff is worth. I think I'll not go anywhere else this weekend and drive the next week on what I already have in the tank. ;)

Should be back to $3.30 per gallon by next weekend.
