OK,, so here is my problem and question… I had the Mach system, now the only part that remains is the subwoofer/amp assembly in the 'trunk'. I ordered the wiring harness adapter from crutchfield so I can use the factory sub.. So, the male/female harness plugs in. then out comes the Sub-woofer connectors ( one red & one white,, I don't know the technical name for these) Aside from that there the is a 'Power' wire that needs to be connected somewhere and a ground wire that needs to be grounded…My question ( to fourthmeal) is; what power source do I connect that to? Do I splice into my HU power wire?? Would that interfear with my HU power? And, I can ground that to the same place I have my HU grounded to, that's ok, right?

My HU is a Pioneer DEH-P4100UB in the front I'm running components Alpine SPS-600C. In the back I'm got Coaxial Pioneer TS-A832P. I have no Amp currently nor plans to get one. (till Christmas Hopefully!)

Hey there,

not sure exactly what connector this is, since I don't order from crutchfield and I tend to wire things from scratch. Not that it is a smarter idea, its just that I don't like waiting for a connector or something when I have the car apart. I'd rather just solder wire to wire directly instead, since I'm already in there.

From what I understand out of that connector, it is supposed to be 12v switched power, ground probably smart to use the same ground as the HU to prevent a ground loop, and the other two wires are RCA-style input leads. Not much to worry about interference, but you don't want to use 12v constant because that would drain the battery. The HU should have 12v switched coming into it, so perhaps use that.
