Last months Car and Driver had an article on hybrid cars and loved the Fusion over all others. Small wonder. They were in love with the display as well! This month they tested the same cars, non hybrid counterparts. Fusion came in 3rd out of 3, but they said it would be the same even if there were ten more cars in the test.

Thanks for the link JPark. I like that instrument cluster. The overall shape of fusion is quite pleasant. It is not bland or too elaborate.

I'm definitely taking a look at the Fusion Hybrid when it arrives at my local dealer. Ford's GenII hybrid design will also make it to the Escape (eventually) and the improvements are significant, including a battery pack 30% smaller (with 23% drop in weight) and variable voltage controller. All-electric operation up to 70 km/hr (and probably 80 km/hr if driven gently) allows for even more big city driving without the petrol engine kicking in.

As a PR "stunt," Ford just drove a 2010 Fusion Hybrid 1445 miles on a single tank of gas. Impressive! arty:
