I recently upgraded my tires and rims to 20 instead of the standard 16. PROBLEM:...I told the guy at the tire place that my truck as the Tire Pressure Monitoring System and they said no big deal that they would move it to my new rims. (IDK if that is even possible.) We left the tire place and about 20 minutes later my truck started flashing and error. It says Tire Pressure Fault or Tire Sensor Fault. What do I do?? I know many of you have upgrades your tires and rims so any suggestions you have please let me know. The tire place is closed tomorrow and it is so annoying to drive around that alarm to go off constantly because of this issue.

Thanks for your help

The TPS wont fit on 20" low profile tires. They probably didnt put the factory TPs on. There are aftermarket ones that might work with low profile tires but I dont know how those work.

Check with Discount Tire. I think they have a low pressure monitor for you.

Look around for LOW PROFILE TPS monitor systems, or something to hat effect. I am sure that they make some sort of aftermarket sensor for low profile tires.

Yes, there is a band that the tire shop will have to change out and thats it, the sensor is just looking for 32lbs of pressure or less to go off.

If you get aftermarket wheels, and you can't or don't want to use the factory ones, get the new wheels with the TPMS already installed and get the programmer tool. That will program the 4 new TPMS sensors to the vehicle.
