Hey guys so this is sort of random but its involving modding my escape. Now i am a big car fan. I love all sorts of cars mostly ones i cant afford but also cars that can be customized alot with many different options. Now being that i am only 17 i bought a car that was reliable and something safe and that i cant get to much trouble in. I want to mod my escape which only has 46,000 miles on it but i really dont know if i want to or not. With such low miles and me staying home for college which starting next year will be about a 30 min ride each way, the escape will get me far with such low miles. But this also leaves me potential to sell the car if i can find something else affordable in price and insurance that i like. Sure i want to mod the escape but is it worth it to do the mods, or should i just take the car how it is which is clean to begin with, and save for the future and get that car i dreamed of like a gt mustang or acura tl type s. I just simply want to see what you guys think since this is always on my mind. I am open to what everybody has to say so please dont hold back.

I have always been one to invest in my personal future. Modding cars, or even trying to move up was one thing that I wanted to do as a young man. I managed to avoid doing too much to anything that I owned while young. Mostly because I was busy working and attending college. Investing in mods while attending school is cool if you have lots of expendible cash, but if your going to sell your Escape for something else, why invest in something your going to give up? My advise: Be happy with what you have, keep it for as long as you can. Trading off cars is an expensive proposition. Focus your efforts on self improvement. (That's code for be mostly concerned with your education.) When you have completed your schooling and have a permanent job, then go for the :kneel: reward car. Be it another Ford, or whatever. :)

Thanks jonas, you make some good points. I am concentrating on my education and thats why i am not modding alot right now. I feel like once i get a job that pays better, even though i save alot, to much as my parents say, lol, but a better job would definitly help me pay for more. But waiting and driving this car for as long as i can is always a good option

Hey. Well I am a fellow college student and Escape owner. The mods I have done to my escape are not very expensive but I like them because they make him unique. I personally do not have expendable cash that I can spend on expensive mods. I guess I jsut imagine them lol. I plan on keeping my Escape for quite some time so if I do go for something expensive and I have the money I would do so. Your future is very important. You can do some subtle mods and make your escape unique and to your liking while saving money and all that good stuff. Hope this helps. :)

Imo, you are a perfect example of how to mod your Escape in a manner that personalizes it to you, yet not go nutty overboard with changes. A windshield banner and a hood bug deflector is not very expensive, nor a great waste of money. But gives you that feeling of driving something that no one else owns. :cigar:

I was thinking in terms of wheels, tires, exhaust,....and then selling it for less than the cost of the mods! I have had friends that have done that.

Or as ABBA sang: "Money, Money, Money..."

Before and After.

Picture to the left is about a month after I purchased Ean. Picture on the right is this past December. You can see I added the bug shield, banner, and vent guards. That right there makes a difference.

I also added a short antenna, license plate frames, tail light guards (chrome), third brake light cover, some emblems and stickers, and a new head unit for the stereo. :)

There are many things you can do to make your Escape unique and your own. :thumb:
