Liz and I took another trip in the Tahoe down to Charleston and back.

We filled up the Tahoe in Mount Pleasant, SC which is just outside of Charleston. According to the trip computer, the Tahoe got an incredible 23.0 MPG on the trip back to Wilmington.

One feature this Tahoe has what GM calls "Active Fuel Management". What that means in English is when the Tahoe doesn't need it, it turns the V-8 into a V-4. I am not sure if Ford has a similar feature but it is cool.!!!! :shades:

The trip went well for us but was tiring to drive 426 miles in one day.

They should figure out a way to put a clutch mechanism on the crankshaft so that four pistons can be turned off (i.e., freewheel) instead of just the injectors. Then it would be pretty much as close to a true V4 as you could get, instead of a V4 driving another V4 while driving a Tahoe at the same time.

No, the Tahoe did not break down or run out of gas.

Besides, Wifey would be mighty upset if I made her "get out and push"!!!!!!!!!!

i got my best fuel mileage from toronto to barrie Lol, the escape was on a flat deck. HAHA
